Congrats, you've made it to the 'second' Best Newsletter! Let's jump right to it, we have all heard that boxing/kickboxing/MMA, really all the martial arts have become quite a popular 'workout'. In love with UFC over here, we thought you could use a quick tutorial for how to do a boxer braid for your next class. (ALSO, we 100% recommend Rogelio's Boxing. In our house, we often start watching a movie in bed and fall asleep to it, but this particular one kept us up until it was finished: Nocturnal Animals. It's by Tom Ford and it was totally incredible. A must watch for sure.
I love to bake, but most of the time we want something 'healthy' for a baked treat instead of the full heavy recipe. Here's the best Banana Bread we eat all of the time! It is super crazy easy & tastes so great. (At least, we think so!)
Peanut Butter Banana Bread:
1 cup peanut butter 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp vanilla 2 large bananas 2 eggs as many chocolate chips as you think is appropriate
Heat oven to 400 degrees fahrenheit. Line banana bread pan with parchment paper. Add all ingredients to blender except chocolate chips. Blend until smooth. Fold in chocolate. Pour batter into pan. Bake 45-50 minutes.
When you're sitting at a desk all day, running, cycling or really just walking - it can make our hips so tight and unforgiving. We thought it would be helpful having a few good moves to help loosen you up for other activities!
Here is the order in which we put some stretches together, a simple FYI - we are not experts @ yoga! We follow teachers, so use our stretches as simple ideas, if something hurts .. get out of the pose!
1. Sit and gather yourself however you'd like to - we started in heroes pose. (virasana) 2. Press up into down dog & pedal out your heels. (Adho Mukha Svanasana) 3. Fire hydrant down dog. 4. Lizard pose. (Utthan Pristhasana) 5. Half monkey pose. (Ardha hanumanasana) 6. Lizard pose with forearms to the floor. 5. Half monkey pose. 7. Lizard pose variation with bind. 8. Half monkey 9. Low lunge with knee off (or on) the ground. (Anjaneyasana) 10. Hamstring strech, I want to say a variation of pyramid pose. (Parsvottanasana) 11. Repeat on second side. 12. Pigeon pose. (Ardha Kapotasana) 13. Mermaid pose (Naginyasana) 14. Second side. 15. Fire log. (Agnistambhasana) 16. Shoelace. (Gomukhasana) 17. Second side. 18. Butterfly with fingers weaved between toes. (Baddha Konasana) 19. Supine pigeon + variations. (Supta Kapotāsana) 20. Happy baby. (Ananda Balasana) 21. Resting pose. (Shavasana)
